About us

The Ciranda Institute - Music and Citizenship Institute is a non - profit civil association recognized as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP in portuguese) by the Ministry of Justice, created to develop actions in the areas of education and culture, using music as a tool for citizenship. The institution has several work fronts based on the headquarters located in Cuiabá (MT) in the Boa Esperança neighborhood. In addition to the headquarters, we operate in the poles located in the neighborhood of Dr. Fábio Leite (in Cuiabá City), and in the cities Várzea Grande, Campo Verde, Nova Brasilândia, Rondonópolis, Poconé, Chapada dos Guimarães (in João carro and Água Fria comunities) totaling over 1000 students studying music for free in the center of Brazil. All students of school age must be properly enrolled.

The students of the Ciranda Institute have all conditions to develop socially through music: lessons of the musical instrument of your choice, classes of auxiliary theoretical subjects, methods, scores and whenever possible of the musical instrument.

Throughout the year, recitals are held, encouraging students to study more and self-assess together with the teacher to set new goals and / or change the course of their learning. Since its creation on February 13, 2003, the Ciranda Institute has been able to insert young people into the labor market in several ways.

The most talented musicians participate in the professional and semi-professional groups of the Ciranda Institute like the “CirandaMundo Sinfonic Orchestra”, “Primeira Ciranda Orchestra”, “Ciranda Sax”, “Ciranda em Cordas” (Ciranda by trings), “Ciranda Brass” (Brass and percussion), “Clariar” (Clarinets Ensemble), “Cirandrums” (Percussion Ensemble) and other locals groups.
